Transboundary Governance of the Sundarbans in India and Bangladesh
Mangroves are coastal protectors that prevent the loss of land even under extreme environmental conditions. In the Sundarbans, the largest contiguous mangrove forest in the world, ~25% of mangrove forest cover has been lost to shoreline retreat (coastal erosion) since 1985. With your support, I will apply the results of my research into vulnerable mangrove sites in the Sundarbans, working with local communities to identify priority shoreline restoration sites and develop solutions for the future.
