PROTECT WILDLIFE AND INSPIRE ACTION

To stop the rapid decline of our world's many at-risk species, we need to inspire millions of people to act—and fast. That's why the National Geographic Photo Ark exists.

Founded by National Geographic Explorer and photographer Joel Sartore, Photo Ark’s mission is to create a photo archive of global diversity that will feature portraits of more than 20,000 species of birds, fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. The goal is to photograph every species living in the world's zoos, aquariums and wildlife sanctuaries, and share these stunning, intimate and moving photographs with as many people as possible—to build compassion for animals, and inspire them to help protect wildlife before it's too late.

Your gift in support of the National Geographic Photo Ark also funds cutting-edge conservation and habitat restoration work around the globe through our Species Impact Initiative. Do your part to protect wildlife and inspire action today. Thanks!
