Take the #SaveTogether Pledge

The relationship between animals and their environments is the engine that keeps the planet healthy for all of us. But as crucial habitats are destroyed, time is running out for many species. In the past 50 years alone, wildlife populations have dropped 60 percent on average and wild habitats are disappearing at an unprecedented rate. To prevent a global extinction crisis, we must work to conserve at least half of the planet in its natural state.

It's up to us to help create a safe future for our planet's biodiversity. Through projects like the Photo Ark, the National Geographic Society is shining a light on threatened species and landscapes around the world by partnering with leading experts and funding on-the-ground research and conservation. Together we can help protect these places—and the species that depend on them—before it's too late.

You can help save wildlife and their habitats by becoming a #SaveTogether Wildlife Advocate. For every Advocate who signs the pledge, the National Geographic Society will commit $5 to fund more on-the-ground exploration, research, and conservation. Add your name below and pledge to do your part.

I am a #SaveTogether Wildlife Advocate

I know that, from climate change to the depletion of natural resources, our planet—and the precious life that depends on it—is threatened. And I know that it is our duty to protect species, to restore their habitats, and to enable people and wildlife to thrive.

I promise to do my part—to spread the word about the dangers facing species and their habitats, to support conservation efforts, and to do whatever it takes to help achieve a planet in balance.

I am a #SaveTogether Wildlife Advocate.
